Opening office attachment in Outlook problems ?
When I am opening the email that has excel sheet as an attachment then I face the problem. The problem is that it opens a blank page in word or Excel. After that when I try to minimize it by clicking the minimize button or the options button on the top left or click twice on the taskbar at the bottom, it looks like it minimizes the blank page but actually it does not and the document shows up then. Do you know the cause, how can it will be fine, please tell me?
Hi, when users open the files that are attached to their emails then actually the windows creates a local copy of the file on the computer hard disk but when you close the files then it generally don\'t deletes the files. It is because the outlook was not designed to open file attachments directly from email and the facility to do this was added later.
You first need to empty the cache folder that is located in the “C:\\Documents and Settings\\<<USER_NAME>>\\Local Settings\\Temporary Internet Files\\”. At this location a folder named MSO (Microsoft Outlook) contains copies of all the documents that ever opened in outlook. It can help in case of any disaster and you have lost all your emails, you can still find all the emails, but it is just a dumping yard so move or delete these files and reboot your system, then retry.
